Hotel porters and bellhops will appreciate a $1 gratuity per piece of luggage. Chambermaids are likewise given $1 per day of cleaning your room. Taxi drivers expect a tip of 10% of the fare. Health Risks in New YorkTap water is safe for drinking. Meat, poultry, fish and dairy products are safe for consumption. There are no particular health risks or epidemics in the United States. Health standards as well as medical facilities are of high standards.
