In Queens, the 1859 First Reformed Dutch Church is being transformed into the Jamaica Performing Arts Center, a project of the Jamaica Center for Arts & Learning. While the brownstone façade and stained glass windows are restored to their original condition, the interior is being transformed into a flexible 400-seat theater, suitable for films, performances and meeting. Other features include a third-floor community conference room with views of the stage, as well as an additional performance space on the grounds surrounding the landmark structusre.
