The standard attire in New York is a business suit especially when meeting with top officials of big companies. Jeans and sweaters are acceptable casual clothes. In New York, smart casual dressing is recommended even on casual Fridays. Some restaurants and hotels though may have more formal dress requirements; coats and ties required.
