Hofstra Community The Hofstra Community includes all individuals with a current Hofstra ID excluding Alumni; this includes current students, Plant, Public Safety and staff members, faculty, administrators and Lackmann employees. Members of the Hofstra Community are entitled to free admission to all regular home games unless otherwise noted. Free admission is based upon presentation of current Hofstra ID, extended to one (1) guest to Men’s Basketball games and three (3) guests to all other events. Only one (1) ID card per person, University Policy states ID cards are non-transferable. Free admission is only available at the event, one (1) hour prior to game time; tickets needed in advance must be purchased. All Hofstra Community members buying season tickets are entitled to the Pride Season discount of 50 percent.
Hofstra Arena is a 5,124-seat multi-purpose arena in Hempstead, New York. The arena opened in 1999. It is home to the Hofstra University Pride basketball team. It hosted the 2000 and 2001 title games of the America East Conference men’s basketball tournaments. It currently is the reason why Hofstra’s Men’s basketball team has the second longest home winning streak in the nation at 21, the student section has recently been called the Lions’ Den. In 2006 Hofstra Arena was renamed the’David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex’.
