Yankee Stadium is the home stadium of the New York Yankees, a major league baseball team. Located at East 161st Street and River Avenue in The Bronx, New York City, it originally opened on April 18, 1923. For the 1974-1975 seasons, the Yankees relocated across town to Shea Stadium while the Stadium underwent extensive renovations (which significantly changed the look of the ballpark). It was reopened on April 15, 1976. The first night game was played on May 28, 1946. It is expected to close in 2008, with a New Yankee Stadium to open in 2009. (more…)

Lawrence A. Wien Stadium is a stadium located in Manhattan, New York. It is primarily used for American football, lacrosse, and track and field events, and is the home field of the Columbia University Lions. It opened in 1984 and holds 17,100 people. It is part of Columbia’s Baker Field Athletic Complex (not to be confused with the Baker Bowl, formerly located in Philadelphia).

Washington Avenue Armory
The Washington Avenue Armory, officially known as the Washington Avenue Armory Sports and Convention Arena, is a multi-purpose arena in Albany, New York. It is the home of the Albany Patroons basketball teams of the Continental Basketball Association (the headquarters of which are located inside the Armory) and the United States Basketball League. The Armory has a capacity of 4,300 for concerts and conventions and 3,600 for sports events.

UB Stadium

Completed in the summer of 1993, UB Stadium is the home of the football Bulls, as well as UB’s track and field teams. With additional construction completed in the summer of 1999 the stadium seats 31,000 spectators. The official ground-breaking was held on September 17, 1991, and the $23 million complex was financed by the New York State Dormitory Authority. The stadium was the site of track and field competition and closing ceremonies for the 1993 World University Games, an event which attracted more than 5,000 athletes from over 130 countries. The facility was also the site of the 1998 men’s and women’s NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships, the first Division I championship ever contested in Western New York. (more…)
Times Union Center
Times Union Center is an indoor arena located in Albany, New York, with a maximum seating capacity of 17,500 for sporting events. Current tenants include Siena College’s men’s basketball team, the Albany River Rats of the American Hockey League, and the Albany Conquest of af2.The arena, designed and built by Clough Harbour & Associates, was opened in 1990 as the Knickerbocker Arena. Frank Sinatra was the first artist to perform there. The naming rights of the building were sold to Pepsi in 1997. In May 2006 the naming rights were sold to local newspaper The Times Union, which will change the name to Times Union Center on January 1, 2007. (more…)
The Ballpark at St. John’s
The Ballpark at St. John’s University was constructed in the Spring of 2000 on the site of the former McCallen Field. Its construction gives the Red Storm one of the premier facilities for collegiate baseball in the BIG EAST, as well as one of the top in the Northeast.The new facility boasts seating for 3,500 spectators, an electronic scoreboard in centerfield, a press box, lighting and public address system.
The field was the home of the Queens Kings, a Class A team in the New York-Penn League affiliated with the Toronto Blue Jays, for their summer 2000 season. The Kings moved to their new home in Coney Island prior to the start of the 2001 season and are now known as the Brooklyn Cyclones. (more…)
Special Olympics Stadium
Special Olympics Stadium is a stadium in Brockport, New York. Located on the campus of State University of New York at Brockport it is primarily used for American football, and is the home field of the SUNY-Brockport Golden Eagles. The stadium holds 10,000 people and was built in 1979. It was originally built for the 1979 Summer Special Olympics that were held in Brockport.
